It all started during the Covid-19 circuit breaker in 2020 when Cheffie's Foods founder, Alec Wing had a craving for good Aussie pies. He bought a couple of frozen gourmet meat pies made by an established Aussie company. Upon reading the ingredients on the packaging he was astonished that it listed no less than 9 coded additives. With time on his hands and armed with his usual culinary curiosity, Alec set out to create his own pie crust and fillings with the freshest ingredients but without any additives nor preservatives. On his second batch, he gave a dozen pies to his friend who was confined on a luxury yacht berthed in Sentosa. He loved the pies and asked Alec to bake more pies for the entire crew. The good word spread fast and thanks to his loyal fans, the pies have been flying off the shelves since. As of now, the two frozen "gourmet" pies remain in Alec's freezer as a reminder of why he embarked on his pie baking endeavour.
Alec's friends often call him by other names instead of his real name. A sign of endearment perhaps. In the last few years, Alec was referred to more as Cheffie mainly because he is always doing something with food. It was a simple and logical decision to name Alec's food business, Cheffie's Foods.
Our aim is to offer exceptional food that stands out above the rest. Really good wholesome pies are the first items that are offered by Cheffie's Foods. New food items will follow soon.
